W e l c o m e!

We are the Saline Area Social Service (SASS).  We bring worthwhile programs (Food Pantry, Prescription Drug Assistance, Back-to-School Clothing Program, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets and Holiday Adopt-a-Family, to name a few) to Saline and  residents of the Saline Area School District.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We help your friends and neighbors, or their children and grandchildren (or their parents and grandparents).

Individuals, families and seniors often need temporary help to make ends meet.  We provide advice, counseling, food, medicine, referrals, and temporary support.

Find information on current
and past activities on our News page.

Our income limits for being a client are:
$1,670 per month (for a single person)
$3,400 per month (for a family of 4)
(Our income limits are 185% of the federal poverty level. These are the same limits that the Saline schools use for free and reduced school lunches.)

Saline Area Social Service helps local people - the agency's goal is to help people get on their feet.  Often we help people at a time of crisis - a job loss, illness, accident, or family emergency.

Our agency cooperates with other agencies and refers people to them if that would be helpful.  We also administer a prescription drug program that covers prescription copays.

The people we help give back
to the community, and we all benefit.
